Condolence From: Brandi Carpenter
Condolence: Sorry to hear about your loss. Mary Jane was a wonderful woman who loved her family. She was always so excited to go to basketball games and just to be with her family while she was at Fort Hudson. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Condolence: First of all, my deepest condolences to the family. I can only imagine the magnatude of your loss, and hope that Mary Janes love and strength fill your hearts. I'm glad I had the chance to visit with Mary Jane one day at the nursing home. Such a pleasant person, and a visit I won't forget.

Condolence: Man, did the memories of my childhood come flashing back when I read this and saw the great photos.
J.R. teaching me how to catch a football with my hands instead of trapping it against my body. Bobby playing baseball and football with us in the backyard with as much enthusiasm as us. Watching J.R. --- seemingly the smallest guy on the varsity team -- slither through the opponent’s offense from his linebacker position and hitting harder than anyone I ever saw hit. Watching the big parties they had on the weekends from my upstairs window next door -- way past my bedtime. JR bringing over a nice size trout he caught off of a dock in Lake George to show my father and me. Michael yelling out his window to my dad telling him how much the daily double paid at Belmont. Kulinski, their black and white sheep dog, who I grew up with. JR collecting for his Post-Star deliveries. Shooting baskets in the rim hung up in the old garage in the backyard that eventually had to be torn down. Sitting on the porch with Mary Jane and Katie Culligan. Getting to know all the older “cool” kids who came to the King house in a constant rotation, guys like Jack Miles and his Dutch clog shoes and guys with names like Gizzy and J.D. Watching Bobby play special teams for Fort Edward football and hoping I could play some day, too. Learning how to throw a baseball with Mark LaPan as Colleen yelled encouragement. Annie playing wiffle ball with us. Nancy cheering at the high school basketball games. All the cars from that era parked in front of their house. If I remember right, Carol had a cool little VW. Hearing the Beatles’ Penny Lane for the first time blasting from their house on McCrea St.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes. There beneath the blue suburban sky I sit and meanwhile back….

Condolence: I was so saddened to hear about MaryJane. She was such a wonderful person. We used to have so much fun at their house. MaryJane always had kool-ade for all the neighborhood kids. She was the best and will be missed by many. My thoughts are with all of you.

Condolence From: Nanette Tracy
Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Mary Jane's passing. I had many great adventures growing up next door to the King Family. I remember sliding down their hill in the winter, it seemed so big back then. Swimming in their pool in the summer. Skateboarding with them. Hearing the story of Michael writing an essay about the little girl next door (my big sister) who was always sick from school on her mother's day off. Remember when Carol, Suzanne and Nanette came up missing because Carol and Suzanne decided to show Nanette where St. Joseph's School was. Many trips to the Fort Edward Community Pool and just hanging out on the porch at King's, Culligan's and Tracy's. My heartfelt thought and prayers are with you!

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to Ann,Colleen,Nancy and Meghan and the rest of the family. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I am so blessed to have gotten to know her better with her short stay at fort hudson. Also to put a face to the calls I received from the school asking where my child was. I was so glad to see her at all the FE functions with her bright cheery smile. May she rest in peace. God bless.
Sincerely,
Colleen and Heather Taft
