Obituary for Raymond Brockway

Fort Miller, NY and Newport, NC

Raymond “Bud” Brockway, 86, formerly of Fort Miller, NY passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, North Carolina.

Born in Thompson, NY on Sept. 12, 1928, he was the son of the late James E. and Eunice M. (Flanders) Brockway.

Bud was a lifelong resident of Fort Miller and attended the Fort Miller School House. In 1948, he enlisted in the United State Army and served his country for two years.

On November 27, 1946, Bud married Josephine Way in Argyle. They spent 52 wonderful years together before Josephine’s passing in 1998.

Bud worked as a machine tender at various mills in the area.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, listening to music and making his own playlist’s. But most of all, Bud enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his parents and wife, Bud is predeceased by his 5 brothers and 7 sisters.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Wanda Albert and husband Ray, Pauletta Rucinski and husband John, Janice Brockway, Raymond Brockway and wife Connie, Sharon Turnage and friend JR Skinner, Brenda Weatherwax and husband Mert, Bruce Brockway and wife Doris, Becky March, Denny Brockway, and Cindy Fosmire and husband Wayne, 35 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren plus one on the way, siblings, Beverly Brousseau, Joan Provost, Linda Fish, Mark Brockway and wife Annette, and Jack Brockway, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A time of remembrance and sharing will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Miller.
