Obituary for Patti Holmquist (Greenwood)
SOUTH GLENS FALLS
Patti (Greenwood) Holmquist, 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born September 20, 1951 in Glens Falls, NY, Patti was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille (Jones) Greenwood.
On May 23, 1970, she married Gary Holmquist at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church of which she was a lifelong member.
Patti was employed as a teaching assistant at both South Glens Falls, and most recently Glens Falls Schools. She loved teaching the children and helping them succeed.
Patti had a generous and giving nature. She touched many lives with her kindness and compassion for others. She loved traveling to the coast of Maine and taking walks with Meg, her Newfoundland buddy. Most of all, Patti’s passion in life was to be a wonderful mom to her son Geoff.
In addition to her parents, Patti is predeceased by her sisters; Barbara Greenwood and Shirley Lydecker and her husband Herrmann, her sister-in-law Anna Greenwood, and her brothers-in-law, Albert and Keith Holmquist.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years, Gary Holmquist, her son Geoff Holmquist and his wife Stephanie, her granddaughter Hailey Pearl Holmquist, her mother-in-law, Pearl Holmquist Ruff, her sisters; Donna Gates and her husband Robert, and Cathy Haynes and her husband Thomas, her brothers; Edward Greenwood, Russell Greenwood and his wife Beatrice, and Charles Greenwood and his wife Rosanne, and her “sister” Marcia Jones.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
