Obituary for Leon Alan "Scribby" Scribner

Leon Alan "Scribby"  Scribner
GANSEVOORT

Leon Scribner, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 2, 2014.

Born in Saratoga, NY, on April 7, 1951, Scribby was the son of the late Kenneth and Jessie (Smith) Scribner. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his sister, Joan Newell.

Scribby worked for over 40 years for Reynolds and Associates, Roofing Contractors, in Glens Falls.

He was one of the original founders of The Jury MC and a past member of the Gansevoort Volunteer Fire Department.

Scribby was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn (Zbozanski) Scribner; his daughter, Jessica Closson, and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Jaden, Devin and Kendra, all of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his daughter, Sara Scribner and her daughter, Elizabeth Vance; his son, Kenneth Scribner; his siblings: Frank DeGregory and his wife, Barbara, of Florida, Dennis Scribner and his wife, Sharon, of New Jersey, and Sharron Bennett of Catskill, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members; as well as several close friends.

Friends may call on the family between 4 and 7 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. Online condolences may be posted at kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014,in Gansevoort Cemetery, Route 50, Gansevoort, NY, with Regina Haag, of Adirondack Friend’s Meeting, officiating.
