Obituary for Cory Kenneth Cottrell

Cory Kenneth Cottrell
Queensbury

Cory K. Cottrell, 21, passed away on Sunday, October 05, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident.

Cory was born into a loving family at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, NY on July 3, 1993. He was the son of Dr. Eric Cottrell and Jill Cottrell.
He immersed himself from an early start in anything sports related. Family competition proved that he was a natural at baseball, hockey, snow skiing & snowboarding, plus waterskiing, and wakeboarding. He also loved motorcycles and four-wheelers.
Influenced by cooking with his parents, Cory found his passion in the kitchen when working at the Sagamore Resort for three years and most recently as a sous chef at Cate's Italian Garden in Bolton Landing. Meals were an important part of his holiday celebrations with his extended family as well.
Cory's friends will miss him greatly - he made instant friends with anyone and never lost a single one. He had a wide, beautiful smile and laughed often. There wasn't a reflection that Cory didn't take advantage of to check his looks! Outside of his vanity, he was soft, sensitive, sincere and had an uncanny ability to relate to everyone.
From Cory's writings: "We grew up going to church and I still do pray every night, I'm very faithful to Jesus." We will keep him in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Cory was predeceased by his aunt, Kelly Lynn Balcolm.

Cory is survived by his parents, Dr. Eric Cottrell and Jill Cottrell, his sister Erica Cottrell and her husband Anderson Heagy, his brother Casey Cottrell, his grandparents; Kenneth and Joanne Cottrell, and Joseph and Judy Strazzi, his aunt and uncle Maureen and Martin Temple and their children Jackelyn Lampkins, and Marissa and Gabrielle Temple, his aunt and uncle Mary and Jeffrey Goodrich and their children Kaleb and Breanna Goodrich,
