Joshua T Murphy, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 23, 2014.

Born in Glens Falls on October 27, 1974, he was the son of James and Cynthia (Scoville) Murphy.

He was a graduate of South Glens Falls High School, class of 1993 and graduated from Adirondack Community College.

Joshua loved working at Giavanno’s Pizza but his passion, like his grandfather Scoville, was jewelry. He worked for his Uncle Chris Scoville at M.C. Scoville Jewelers for many years before becoming a partner at Achenbach’s Jewelry Store.

He loved to play ice hockey, basketball and golf and was always ready for a pick-up game at any time. He was a huge fan Larry Bird and Mario Lemieux.

Joshua’s greatest love and joy was his son, Jackson.

He will be remembered for his quick wit and smile.

Joshua is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Montgomery and Shirley Scoville and paternal grandparents, Leland and Henrietta Murphy.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 14 years, Gina Marie Murphy, son, Jackson Murphy, parents, James and Cynthia Murphy, brothers, Jeramie Murphy and wife Maria, Jared Murphy and wife Sarah, James Murphy, Jedidiah Murphy and wife Jaime, along with aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Joshua’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
