Fort Edward
Margaret “Mimi” (Haley) Trombley, 96, a lifelong resident of Fort Edward passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Fort Edward on March 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Helen (Knickerbocker) Haley.
She attended Fort Edward Union Free School.
In May 1937, she married Joseph L. Trombley at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. They spent 50 wonderful years together before his passing in 1987.
She waitressed for many years at the original Halfway House in Fort Edward. Margaret was an avid Yankee’s fan and they have lost one of their biggest fans.
Margaret was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. God, her family, and friends were her top priority.
Besides her parents and husband Margaret is predeceased by her sisters, Katherine Smatko and Ruth Poole.
Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Donna Bement and husband Richard of Queensbury, a son, Joseph Trombley of Fort Edward, grandchildren, Robert Bement and wife Vicky, Diane Bement, John Bement and wife Cindy, Jeffrey Bement, Kellie Trombley Hafner and her husband Rich, Kristina Trombley Bump and her husband Daniel, Katie Trombley Wolfe, great grandchildren, Kayla Ortiz and husband Angel, Amber Bement, Eric Bement, TJ Hafner and significant other Kait O’Shaughnessy, Shaylyn Hafner and fiancé Michael Brancati, Jacob Hafner, Thomas Wolfe, and Lily Margaret Bump, special friends, Mary and Brad, Roberta and Joseph, Stacy, Mitch, and Father Marty, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church 164 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, and Rev Martin Fisher, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church of Greenwich, co celebrating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Robert Bement, John Bement, Jeffrey Bement, TJ Hafner, Jacob Hafner, and Thomas Wolfe with honorary bearers, Brad Ordway and Joseph Eastman.
Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fort Edward.
Per Margaret’s request, in lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church 164 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828.
