Obituary for Bruce Arthur Bennett

WARRENSBURG

Bruce A. Bennett, 62, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born January 9, 1952 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of late Pearl Bennett and Robert Truax.

Bruce was employed by the Sagamore Resort. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening. He had a green thumb and could grow anything. Bruce will always be remembered as a bighearted man who would do anything for anybody. He was always there for his family and loved spending time with them, especially his granddaughter.

In addition to his mother, Bruce is predeceased by his sister, Sheila Loomis.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Bobby Jo Edgerly and her husband Dave, and Lindsey Bennett and her fiancé Charles Kleaver, his sisters; Sherry Battease and her husband Jay, Susan Hickman and her husband Ron, and Sherrill Brown, his brothers; Gary Bennett and his wife Penny, and Robert “Bobby” Truax and his wife Robin, his father, Robert Truax, his granddaughter Sarah Edgerly, his nephews; Ryan and Andrew Abare, his niece Stephanie Abare, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10am on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle, NY.

Memorial donations in Bruce’s name can be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, c/o the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 126 South Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
