Robert Burwash Aubrey, 89, finished his work here on earth on Friday, November 28, 2014.

Robert “Bob” was born on March 31, 1925 to Robert J. and Lillian Irene (Burwash) Aubrey.

Bob lived in Smiths Basin, Adamsville and the Hartford area all his life. He was a 70 plus year member of the Adamsville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, taught Sunday School and was a Trustee. He was a man of strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He retired from Hartford Central School and was a member of the Hartford Volunteer Fire Co. He was known to many as Mr. Fix it and could fix just about anything. Bob worked hard to provide for his family and will be remembered for his gentle, loving temperament, an easy smile, and a very strong grip! His life touched hundreds of young people.

Besides his parents, he was also pre-deceased by his first wife Betty (Cross) Aubrey; his infant sister, Margaret, and his 3 brothers, Howard, Harold and Willard Aubrey.

Left to cherish his memories include his wife of 52 years, Jean Ann (Montero) Aubrey; his 2 daughters, Linda I. (Aubrey) Rathbun and her husband, Ray, and Martha J. (Aubrey) Girard and her husband Peter; his 6 grandchildren and their spouses, April & Tony Lomenzo, Sandra & Doug Durkee, Rob & Ragen Rathbun, Betty & Mark Murphy, Jen & Andy Gordon and Jaclyn & James Campagnone; his 17 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donald Aubrey and his wife Nancy, Gordon Aubrey and his wife Patricia and Richard Aubrey and his wife Betty; as well as his loving sister, Claire (Aubrey) Hamilton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 11:00am to 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Argyle. For online condolences and to view Bob’s Book of Memories, please visit our website at www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00pm at the funeral home, following the calling hours, with the Rev. Kevin Gebo, pastor of the Truthville Baptist Church, officiating.

Following the services a reception will be held at the Hartford Volunteer Fire Co. , Route 40, Hartford.

Burial will take place at 2:15 pm on Tuesday May 6, 2015 at Morningside Cemetery, Hartford.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Truthville Christian Academy, Box 157, North Granville, NY 12854.
