Ella Mae (McMurry) Dewey, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hartford on October 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Noble James and Elizabeth (LaFoy) McMurry.

She was a graduate of Hartford Central School.

On July 23, 1966, she married Milton Dewey in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Ella was employed for 5 years at the Hartford IGA and 20 years at Mallinckrodt.

She enjoyed horses, Jim Canon’s, snowmobiling, ceramic’s, scrap booking, bowling with her friends and grandchildren, knitting, gardening, canning and baking. Ella especially loved her family and friends.

Besides her parents, Ella is predeceased by her siblings, Wilma Vanderman, Robert, John, Noble Jr., William and James McMurry.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of 48 years, Milton Dewey, children, Scott Dewey and wife Arlene, Cindy Blackstone and husband Ned, Michael Dewey and wife Stacey, Kevin Dewey and fiancee Susan Paul, Rebecca Hasseman and husband Scott, daughter in-law, Sandra Dewey, grandchildren, Kneesaa Stone and husband Joshua, Delta Dewey, Michael Dewey and wife Ashley, Kaneesha Dewey, Danielle Blackstone, Curtis Dewey, Bradley Dewey, Zachary Dewey, and Bailey Hasseman, great grandchildren, Joshua and Richard Stone, and Hunter Dewey, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Patti Girard, pastor of the Hartford Yoked Parish, officiating.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Morningside Cemetery, Hartford.
