Robert W.  Johnson
Argyle, Hudson Falls, & Englewood, FL,
Robert W. Johnson, 80, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughters by his side Thursday, February 19, 2015.
Robert was born on July 13th, 1934 in Adirondack and was the son of the late Vernon and Florence (Fish) Johnson.
Robert graduated from Pottersville High School class of 1952 and then went on to serve in the U.S. Army 74th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany from 1955-1957. After his discharge he went to work for Niagara Mohawk Power Company as a meter reader. In 1994, after 37 years he retired as an equipment operator/dynamiter.
On August 31, 1957, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Andree Celeste Haessly at St. Joseph’s in Fort Edward, NY.
Throughout his life, Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, especially to Alaska and Florida, bird watching, catching up with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed making maple syrup and camping with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Elks and Eagles Club, a former member of the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club, as well as a former town council member in Argyle. After retiring, Robert spent time traveling with his wife, Andree. They drove cross country three times to visit Alaska where Robert enjoyed the beautiful sights, the salmon fishing, and the adventures through tiny Alaskan towns. Robert also traveled abroad, visiting Ireland, Scotland, and England. He especially enjoyed spending the winters in his home in Englewood, FL. He also was always a supporter of his children and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities and devoted his time to attending 4-H and Girl Scouts events, and volleyball and football games. He also enjoyed socializing with close friends, especially Bob and Sue Brennan, and Barb and Vic Middleton.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Phillip Johnson, who passed away June 5, 2012 and his sister in law, Eyvonne Johnson.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Andree Johnson; his two daughters, Jeannie Underwood and her husband, George, of Argyle, Celeste McDonald and her husband, David, of Hudson Falls, and daughter in law Sue-Lynn Johnson of Argyle; Nine grandchildren, Courtney Harrington, Rob Underwood, and his fiancée Melissa Harvey, Erica Thielemier, and her husband John Paul, Amanda (Johnson) Clements, Jarred Johnson, Melanie McDonald, Melissa McDonald, Ryan Johnson, and Brendon Johnson; and seven great grandchildren; his brothers Vernon Johnson, Charles Johnson, and his wife Mary, and Richard Johnson, and his wife Eleanor; sisters in law Diane Colvin, and her husband Edward, Susan Hafner, and her husband Mark; brother in law William Haessly, and his wife Lynn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at Noon on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. James Episcopal Church, 172 Ottawa Street, Lake George, NY 12845, with Rev. Richard Corney, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at 11am on Saturday May 30, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George.
