Obituary for Shirley Ramsey (Dingman)

Shirley Mae Ramsey (Dingman), 79, of Schuylerville NY, passed away Friday March 6, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 28, 1935, to the late John and Edith (Fowler) Dingman, in the Town of Day, NY.

Shirley spent many years as a waitress at Ar-Dee’s Diner on Route 9 in Fort Edward. She then went on to work for the Saratoga County ARC, where she loved taking care of her friends as a day-hab counselor and aide.

She loved spending time with her family, most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley also enjoyed camping as well as a lifelong love of solitaire.

Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her brother, Ronald Dingman; her sister, Eileen Woodward; her daughter, Judy Champagne; and her grandson, Jesse Cale.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cindy Worth and her husband, Bob, of Adams, TN, Shelly Ramsey, of Gansevoort and Stacey Cale and her significant other, John, of Stony Creek; her son in law, Keith Champagne, of South Glens Falls; her granddaughters, Gabrielle Baxter and her husband, Sean, of South Glens Falls and Angela Davis and her husband , Jim, of South Glens Falls; her grandson, Gary Worth and his wife Cynthia, of TN; her granddaughter, Michelle Kelchner and her husband ,Calvin, of Clarksville, TN; her granddaughters, Katelyn Waller and her husband, Hartley, of Schuylerville, Marissa Ramsey and her significant other, Scott, of Gansevoort and Tessa Cale and her significant other, Lukas, of Schuylerville; 17 great- grandchildren,several sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Burial will be at 11am on Saturday May 30, 2015 at Union Cemetery, Fort Edward.
