Paula “Jeany” (Harder) Perkett, 83, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on October 4, 1931 in Moreau NY, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Edith (Harrington) Harder.

Paula attended Fort Edward High School and later went on the work for herself as a Private Home Health Aide.

She was a local area poet who had been published many times in the Post Star, as well as two poems that went on to be published to music. These publications were played on the radio in California. A quote from Paula sums up her love for poetry well, “I’m really interested in poetry and feel a lot can be said poetically that can’t be said anyway else. As well as poetry, Paula loved drawing and some of her artwork is still displayed today.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Betty La Rock, of Glens Falls, Barbara Skellie, of Florida and Carol Corlew, of Glens Falls; her brother Robert Harder and his wife Mary, of Hudson Falls; her daughter, Alberta Wells, of South Glens Falls; her son, Albert Upton Jr., of Florida; her daughter, Edith Girard, of Glens Falls; her daughter, Diane Smith and her husband Dennis, of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Breault, Alberta (Toochie) Wells, Dawn Gates, Leigh Ann Rayno, Melissa Girard, Kathy Smith and Jimmy Smith; her special nephew David, who she loved spending time with; several great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will follow calling hours at 11am on Saturday, with Regina Haag, of The Adirondack Friends Meeting, officiating

Burial will follow the services at the funeral home on Saturday March 28, 2015 at Pine View Cemetery, 21 Quaker Road Queensbury NY, 12804.
