Obituary for Allen J. Ellis

SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Allen J. Ellis, 66, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home.

Born October 19, 1948, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late George and Ethna (Hill) Ellis.

Allen graduated from Argyle Central School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. After leaving the service, Allen attended Adirondack Community College and Skidmore College. He was employed by Scott Paper for 27 years.

Allen was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., and the American Legion Post 1518 in Argyle. He was also a member of the J.A. Barkley Hose Company. He loved going to flea markets and eventually made a business out of buying and selling the treasures he found.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Deb Peacock of the Argyle United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle, NY.
