Sidney S. Bennett, 79, of Argyle, passed away peacefully at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home, on May 17, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 7, 1936, in Argyle NY, he was the son of the late, Francis S. and Lillian E. (Baker) Bennett.

Sidney graduated from Argyle Central School in 1954. On November 7, 1954 he married the love of his life, Mary A. Ball, in North Argyle.

Sidney loved horses and worked for the Glens Falls Animal Hospital. He went on from there to work as a janitor for Argyle Central School, a position he held for many years.

Besides his parents, Sidney is predeceased by his wife Mary A. Ball; his brother, Jasper J. Bennett; his sister in law, Marjorie Bennett; as well as two nieces, Joan Carstons and Cindy Bennett.

Left to cherish his memory are his niece, Bonnie Lant; three nephews, Danny Bennett and his wife Pam, John Bennett and his wife Liz and Robert Bennett and his significant other, Julie; and his sister in law, Margaret McQuain and her husband Roy.

At Sidney’s request there will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 10 am at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Argyle, NY 12809. To view Sidney’s Book of Memories and post online condolences, please visit our website at www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.
