Stephen Barron, 72, of Fort Ann, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Newburgh NY, on January 20, 1943, he was the son of the late, James and Madeline (Fisher) Barron.

Stephen graduated from Goshen High School in 1960, and soon after enlisted in the Air Force serving for six years.

On June 9, 1972 he married the love of his life, Noreen Wagner, in Campbell Hall, NY.

Stephen was a professional CDL driver for many years before his retirement in 2014.

Among Stephen’s favorite activities are family vacations, especially to Amish country, going out to breakfast on Saturday mornings; spring training with his brother and nephew, working out at the gym with his loyal friends Tom and Gus, as well as playing his scratch offs.

Stephen had a great sense of humor and had the ability to make anyone blush. He was also a loving and supportive husband, Dad and Papa.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Jim Barron and his sister Denise Barker.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Noreen Barron; his daughters, Cheri Sullivan and her husband, Jeff, of Otego NY, Lori Centerbar and her husband, Matthew, of Hudson Falls NY, Kelli Barron, of South Glens Falls NY; son, Joseph Barron and his wife , Elysse, of Argyle NY; daughter, Jennifer Sullivan and her husband. Paul, of Lake George NY; brother, Bruce Barron, of Campbell Hall NY; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Mariah Sullivan, Anthony, Madeline, and Sophie Centerbar, Bella and Hannah Lavin and Cole Barron; as well as several sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am on Thursday May 28, 2015 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, Fort Edward.

Burial will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

Memorial donations in Stephen’s name can be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer c/o Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 126 South Street Glens Falls, NY 12801.

The family would like to make a special thank you to WWAARC, for allowing Noreen generous time off from work to care for Stephen, “Aunt Patti” for the care and friendship she has shown, especially over the last few months, as well as Dr. Gillani and Ruth Fish, who did all they could to give Stephen more cherished time, for which the family will be forever grateful.
