HENRY "HANK" RAHMSTORF


FORT EDWARD - Henry "Hank" Rahmstorf, 83, of Fort Edward passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center with his loving family by his side.

Born January 11, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey he was the son of the late Helmuth and Lena Rahmstorf.

Henry served in the Armed Forces from 1952 through 1954. Upon his return from service, he married the love of his life, Janice Porter and continued his employment at Western Electric. Together with a lifelong friend he was also a proud owner and operator of a full service gas and repair center. The couple resided in New Jersey where they raised their two daughters Laurie and Cheryl. They relocated to Fort Edward, NY upon Henry's retirement.

Henry loved life and lived it to the fullest. He especially enjoyed constructing and flying model airplanes as well as piloting small aircraft. He also had a love of boating and water sports, making lifelong memories in the many summers he spent vacationing on Lake George.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Henry cherished his time with his family, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice, his daughter Laurie Rahmstorf of Queensbury, his granddaughter and husband Brittany and Ivan Flores of Queensbury, his great-granddaughter Nadia Lee Flores, his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Larry Otrimski of Hillsborough, NJ, and his grandson and granddaughter Garrett & Carissa Otrimski of Hillsborough, NJ. He is also leaving behind many beloved friends and extended family who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on June 2, 2015 at the Funeral Home, with Saratoga County Hospice Chaplain, Brian Gould, officiating.

Henry will be laid to rest immediately following at Saratoga National Cemetery, with a service at 12pm.
