Obituary for Edward "Hilton" Tillotson

Edward "Hilton"  Tillotson
SCHUYLERVILLE

Edward “Hilton” Tillotson, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born August 30, 1929 in Fort Edward, NY, he was the son of the late Dr. Byron C. and Virginia (Post) Tillotson.

After graduating from high school, Hilton enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country from 1950-1954.

After his service, Hilton lived in Florida for many years where he worked in construction. He was involved with building Disney World, Epcot Center, and the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Upon his return to the area in 1988, Hilton was employed by the Fort Miller Cement Works in Greenwich where he made fiberglass forms. He was a member of the Muzzleloaders Club in Schuylerville. He enjoyed trips to Florida where he went shrimping and crabbing. He also enjoyed carpentry, making scale models of sail boats, and camping on Lake Champlain and Otter Creek in Vergennes, VT.

In addition to his parents, Hilton was predeceased by his sister Virginia Adams and his brother Byron C. Tillotson Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Helen B. Post, his son Edward Tillotson, his brothers; Brooks Tillotson and Olin Tillotson, his sisters; Joan Tillotson and Sandi Norton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
