Obituary for John Francis "Jack" Lyons

John “Jack” F. Lyons, 88, was reunited with his wife Beth on Sunday, September 27, 2015 as well as other family members.

Born August 28, 1927 in South Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Una (DeMarsh) Lyons.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

On September 19, 1953, he married Elizabeth Turner in Cranford, NJ and they were married for 52 years until her passing on January 31, 2005.

John was employed by Delongs Dairy and as a route salesman for several years at Ideal Dairy in Hudson Falls, NY. In his retirement, he worked at NIBCO as a security guard. John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and enjoyed his many hunting dogs over the years. John was also known for his love of gardening.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was predeceased by his brother James Lyons and his sister Mary Powers.

John is survived by his son Stephen Lyons and his wife Marlana along with their children Derek and Patrick Lyons, his son Gregory Lyons, his sisters; Ann Powers and her husband Joe, Ellen Nowacki and her husband Tom, and Lois Cardinale and her husband Jim, his sister-in-law Dolores Lyons, several nieces and nephews, as well as his hunting buddy Lloyd Burch, and his good friend Marilyn Whalley.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3pm on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY with Rev. Kelly Warner officiating.
