Obituary for Craig A Hunt

Hudson Falls
Craig A. Hunt, 62, of Broad St., passed away peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on October 20, 2015 with his wife by his side.

Born in Glens Falls, NY, on September 21, 1953, he was the son of the late Stanley L. and Janet Rae (Walkup) Hunt.

Craig attended South Glens Falls High School, graduating in the class of 1973. As a wrestler in high school, Craig won numerous titles.

After high school Craig moved to Texas where he lived from 1975-1986 and was employed as lead Chef at Denny’s. He then moved back to South Glens Falls, where he started his own exterminating business, “Craig’s Pest Control” in 1993 and ran that business until his retirement in 2013.

On July 21, 2007 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Sullivan, in South Glens Falls, NY, at their home in a backyard garden ceremony near the Koi pond he had built.

Craig enjoyed taking scenic car rides with his wife to Indian Lake. He also enjoyed cooking, landscaping with his loader and gardening. He especially loved his cats, Pablo, Jupiter and Jato.

Craig was an avid collector and modeler of war memorabilia and dioramas. His passion was tanks. He competed in numerous shows taking gold metals and “Best in show” awards for his modeling and painting skills.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Carolyn Hunt, of Hudson Falls, NY; his son, Benjamin Hunt and his wife, Sharon, of TN; his daughter, Heather Goodwin and her husband Christopher, of TN; his brother James Hunt and his wife Belinda, of Town of Moreau; his twin brother Curtis Hunt, of VT; his brother Gary Hunt, of Fort Edward, NY; his sister, Tia R. Winters and her late husband, Geoffrey, of Queensbury, NY; his granddaughter, Hannah Miller, of TN; Chong, Ed and Jacob LaBarge, of VA; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will follow calling hours at 4 pm with Sister Donna M. Irvine S.S. N. D. Glens Falls Hospital Chaplain, officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
