Motorcycle ride

Since Mae was Mom's best friend I have a lot of memories of her joining us in our many family functions.  My favorite one was one time when we were visiting Mom and Dad on one of our motorcycle trips. We had been kidding around with her about getting her own scooter to bomb around town in and she kept telling us that she didn't think it was a good idea, but that she would love a ride on our bike sometime. Well, she happened to be visiting at the house that day and we decided it was high time she got her ride. Being the adventurous type she said "OK".  We bundled her up in my helmet, gloves and riding jacket and helped her onto the back of the bike. My husband, Paul, took her on a short ride down the street and back. When she got back and we got the helmet off of her she had the biggest grin on her face.  She gave each of us a big hug and said that she had the best time.

I will always remember her beautiful smile and the fact that she always seemed to be having "the best time".
