Marilyn (Merrill) Grant, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born October 15, 1936 in Fort Edward,NY, she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Grace (Hoskins) Merrill.

Marilyn graduated from Argyle Central School. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Arnold Grant.

She was a member of the Durkeetown Baptist Church.

Marilyn was a homemaker and very much enjoyed raising her family on their farm. One of Marilyn’s favorite activities was working at the local farmer’s market with her husband. She loved knitting, quilting and crafting. Marilyn enjoyed bowling and was very musical. Most of all, Marilyn loved taking care of her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, James Merrill.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Arnold Grant, her children; Carole Foster and her husband Tom, and Andy Grant and his wife Kathy, her grandchildren; Michael Grant and his wife Tiffany, Andrew Grant, Jodie Boucher and her husband Dan, Jennifer Wright and her fiancé Dave, Gregory Foster, and Abby Henderson and her husband Nick, her great-grandchildren; Kayla Grant, Avery Grant, Daniel Furman, Danny Boucher, Judson Boucher, Mason Boucher, and Natalie Henderson, her brother Frank Merrill and his wife Bonnie, along with their children Chris and Seth Merrill, her sister-in-law Helen Markus, her niece and nephew Scott Merrill and Kim Brennan, and her sister-in-law Karen Sioui and her husband Joe along with their children Tim Sioui and Vicki Streeter.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Prater of the Durkeetown Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
