Obituary for Dorothy F. Goodbred

Dorothy F. Goodbred, 61, of Ethan Allen St. passed away on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Elizabethtown, NY, on January 2, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Agnes (Konopka) Powers.

As a child Dorothy attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, later she graduated from Hudson Falls High School.

On August 24, 1973 she married the love of her life, Clark J. Goodbred Jr. at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. They spent 42 happy years together.

Dorothy began working in retail when she was younger and later was employed with C.R. Bard for ten years.

Dorothy enjoyed bird watching, fishing, gardening, her dogs, ice skating and roller skating. She also enjoyed Jazz music, attending concerts with her husband, hockey games and the Boston Red Sox. She loved traveling to the Racino and Turning Stone to play the slots.

Besides her parents Dorothy is predeceased by her in laws, Clark Sr. and Domenica Goodbred; as well as her best friend, Sue Joiner Fenton.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clark J. Goodbred Jr.; her daughter, Natalie Goodbred and her fiancé, Mitchell Breault; her brother in law, Wayne Goodbred; her sisters in law, Roberta Caputo, Sharon Sears and Dominie Thompson; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 am on Monday November 16 at St. Joseph’s Church,164 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828, with her cousin, the Rev. Thomas Konopka, officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses at Tower 2, especially Chris, Karen, Debbie, Walt, Kit, Stacey and Chelsey. Also Dr. Hoffman and all of his staff, as well as Elizabeth Reinhardt.
