Colette T. Duggan, 96, of Glens Falls, passed away on January 31, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born at home on July 23, 1919 in Fennimore, NY, she was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Battiste) Marino.

Colette attended St. Mary’s School in Hudson Falls until the eighth grade and then went on to graduate from Hudson Falls High School.

A devoted Catholic, Colette was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Glens Falls, for 69 years.

After graduating from high school, Colette worked at the Sugar Bowl in Glens Falls, where she met her husband who was a regular customer. She then went to work at Whalen’s Drug Store in Glens Falls, managing the lunch counter during WWII.

On September 7, 1947, Colette married Dennis H. Duggan at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls. The couple raised five children and spent 52 happy years together until Dennis’s death in 1999.

Colette was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She was a Yankees fan. She loved spending time with her family especially when gathered around the dinner table.

In addition to her parents and husband, Colette is predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph, Phillip and Thomas Marino; her sister, Anna Cervone; her sisters in law, Beverly and Jeanne Marino; her brother in law, Fred Cervone; her nephews, Vincent and Thomas Cervone; and her niece, Anna Marie Marino.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James H. Duggan and Dennis H. Duggan and his wife, Tomiko; her daughter, Anna Mary Duggan; her son, Michael J. Duggan and his partner Mary Lee Godfrey; her daughter Veronica (Duggan) Futrell and her husband, Thomas; her grandson, Paul F. Duggan; her step grandson, Jason R. Futrell; several nieces and nephews as well as several great and great great nieces and nephews.

At Colette’s request there will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 am on Thursday February, 4 at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren St. Glens Falls.

A Rite of Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls, at 11am on April 22, 2016.

Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
