Kathy Mahoney, age 60, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Haynes House of Hope in Granville. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 19, 1955, in Glens Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Frances (Arnold) Jennette.

As a teenager, Kathy set many track records while attending South Glens Falls High School.

Kathy took great pride in her work as the assistant manager at HESS in South Glens Falls, where she worked for 15 years and became known as the “HESS lady”. During that same time she also worked for Carl R’s in Queensbury.

Kathy married her longtime companion, Michael Mahoney.

She enjoyed going to garage sales, playing BINGO, going to the Casino, as well as traveling to Las Vegas with her traveling companion Ruth. Kathy loved to volunteer her time helping others in need. She especially loved spending time with her great nephew, Brandon.

Kathy proudly served in the U.S. Army for twelve years and was stationed in Colorado.

In addition to her mother, Kathy is predeceased by her brother in law, David LaFreniere; and her friend, Boris Reisner.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Mahoney; her sister, Cindy Demas and her significant other, John Leonard; her son Nelson Ware; her nephew, Brandon Reisner; her great nephew, Brandon Reisner and his mother, Darcy Johnson. her brothers in law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mahoney Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ted LaFreniere and Dan Mahoney; her sisters in law, Carol Bruce and her husband David, Karen Green and her husband, Robert and Kim Kinney and her husband, Steve; and her very special friend who was like her sister, Cherie Sharkey;

A funeral service will be conducted following calling hours at 7pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
