Clayton E. Washburn, 80, passed away Sunday April 17, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Fort Edward on March 17, 1936 he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Penders) Washburn.

Clayton attended South Glens Falls High School and then proudly joined the United States Army in 1958.

On June 8, 1957 he married the love of his life Judy Stanton at St. Michael’s Church in South Glens Falls.

He was employed by Finch Pruyn Paper in Glens Falls for 32 years.

Clayton enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, building ponds around his property, tending to his wife’s gardens, spending time with his grandkids and family especially his wife at their favorite park bench.

In addition to his parents Clayton is predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Marie, his brothers, Robert E. Washburn and Seward Washburn and his wife Elva.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Judith Washburn; his children, Scott Washburn and his fiancé Deidre, Keith and his wife Jennifer and Brian and his partner Jason; his brother, John Washburn and his wife, Hansi; his sister, June Salerno; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephanie, Michael, Jason (Seaman Apprentice), Megan and Taylor; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 11-12p.m. on Friday March 22, 2016 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main Street South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Funeral Service will be conducted following the calling hours at 12p.m.

Burial will follow the service at Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
