Obituary for Bruce I. Smaldone
South Glens Falls
Bruce I. Smaldone, 86, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at Albany Medical Center.
Born on November 2, 1929 in Glens Falls he was the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Vandeburg) Smaldone.
He graduated from South Glens Falls High School class of 1948.
Bruce owned and operated Albert J. Smaldone & Sons, INC. before selling the business in 1986. He then went on to work for Duke Concrete.
On March 3, 1973 he married the love of his life Barbara Thayer.
He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, traveling, wood working, his animals and music. Bruce had a 1968 98 Oldsmobile convertible which he gave to his granddaughter Danna for her high school graduation.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Smaldone and Albert J. Smaldone Jr.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara Smaldone; his daughters, Ruth Ann Hart and Mary Clear; sons, Richard Smaldone and Mark Smaldone; grandchildren, Danna Clear, Krysti Smaldone and Tara Hart; his beloved dog Damien and his cat Baby; along with three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 6p.m. at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
