Obituary for Richard "Dick" Williams

Richard "Dick"  Williams
Fort Edward

Richard P. Williams,81, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Peters Hospital.

Born January 22, 1935 in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Myron Jr. and Edith (Woodcock) Williams.

Dick graduated from Fort Edward Central School Class of 1952.

He was a member of the Fort Miller Reformed Church.

On November 10, 1990 he married the love of his life Tammy Stover in Queensbury.

Dick was the second generation to own and operate William’s Dairy. He also had a milk route where he delivered for 40 plus years to local homes and restaurants.

His biggest passion was being a dairy farmer. After retirement he enjoyed traveling especially to Pennsylvania where he made friends with several Amish families, his two cross country trips, spending his winters in Florida with his sister-in-law, brother-in-law and their children and grandchildren, going to Seeley’s restaurant & Ye Old Fort Diner and spending time with his family.

Dick was a member of the Washington County Conservative Party.

In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his cousins, Gary Bigelow and Irene Williams, and father-in-law, Byron Stover Sr.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Tammy Williams; sons, Robert Williams and his wife Pamela, Thomas Williams and his husband Brian Hafner; daughter, Jodi Breault; brother, Dennis Williams and his wife Ann; grandchildren; Jordan Williams, Dakotah Diehl, Kayla, Andrea, and Ashton, great-granddaughter Hailie, mother-in-law, Barbara Stover and her companion James Sprague; cousins, Tim Williams and Leo Williams, brothers-in law; Byron Stover and Jay Stover and his companion Sandy, sisters-in-law Donna Salls and her husband Larry, and Kelly Parrish and her husband Don, close friends, Terry & Kathie Seeley, Dick Mannel, Leonard & Duff Joiner, and Paulette Foote, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.

Friends may call from 4-7p.m. on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 7, 2016 at 11am at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery Fort Edward, NY.

Memorial donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the Fort Miller Reformed Church, 1239 Fort Miller Rd. Fort Edward, NY 12828 or a charity of one’s choice.
