Obituary for Wilfred Leon McCotter

Fort Edward

Wilfred McCotter, 64 of County Rt. 43, went into the arms of the Lord Friday, July 21, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Fort Edward, NY on Sept. 17, 1951, he was the son of the late, John A. and Rita E. (Maynard) McCotter.

Mac graduated from Hartford Central School in the class of 1969 as well as BOCES. He also attended ACC.

On May 18, 1991 he married the love of his life, Betsy (Graham) McCotter and they spent 16 happy years together until her passing in 2007.

Mac retired from NS Associates in Gansevoort on January 24, 2014. After taking a year off he then went to work driving a milk truck for Wadhams. Mac enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He like to watch NASCAR and work on his own cars. He like to fix things and especially loved traveling to Germany.

Mac proudly served our country in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam era and was a member of the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Wilfred is also predeceased by his son, Bruce Leon McCotter and his sister in law, Sue McCotter.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jay Row and his wife, Ronnie; his daughter, Patricia Dickinson and her husband, Kevin; his son, David Wilson and his wife Sally; his daughter, Michelle Ringer and her husband, James; his significant other, Roberta Foglie and her daughter Chris; his brothers Charlie McCotter and his second wife, Rachael, Joseph McCotter and his wife, Mistle, Bobby McCotter and his wife, Cher and Peter McCotter and his wife, Terry; his sisters, Jenny Manell and her husband, Chuck and Rose McCotter; his grandchildren, Tiffany O’Dell, Gary McCotter, William Row, Jaysen Row, Matthew Ringer and his wife, Rachel and Shawna Ringer, Adam Wilson, Chris Whitty and Andrew Chittenden; his great grandson, Taylor McCotter; his nephew, Edwin McCotter as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 11 to 1pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle. The family requests that anyone attending calling hours please dress casually. For online condolences and to view Wilfred’s Book of Memories, please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm following the calling hours at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle.

A reception will be held after the burial at the Argyle United Methodist Church, Sheridan Street, Argyle.
