Donall Lee McCullough, 87, of Queensbury, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Warren Center in Queensbury.

Born on May 19, 1929 in Harrisonburg, VA, he was the son of Senator Calvin R. and Charlotte V.(Brown) McCullough.

Donall attended and graduated from the University of Delaware and Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA. He left school and joined the US Army in 1952 and was stationed Germany as a military Policeman. Following his military service, he returned back to Lehigh University finishing his Master’s Degree. On June 28, 1958, he married Loretta C. Garrett in Resurrection Parrish, PA.

Following his schooling Donall worked at several engineering companies and retired from Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna in 1996. During his career, he was called in by NASA to work on heat shields on Apollo Capsule and by Naval Research to work on the Nimitz. He was a lifetime member of the Holloway Terrace Volunteer Fire Dept. in New Castle DE. He was always very athletic, playing semi pro baseball, football, water skied into the late 70’s and golfed into his 80’s playing at over a thousand golf courses all over the world. He loved water sports, boating at the Deleware Beach resorts and in the Lake George area. Donall enjoyed traveling, especially by car, through all 50 states as well as all over Canada, Mexico and the UK.

Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of 58 years include his daughter, Nancy-Joyce “Cie” McCullough of Queensbury, his grandchildren, Adam Lee Buschle and Dana Buschle both of Queensbury; his brother, Robert McCullough of DE; his sister, Joyce Peck of DE; his sister in law, Nancy Preis and husband Bill of Vt; brothers in law, Robert Garrett of PA and Charles Garrett of HI and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Cemetery, For Edward.
