Obituary for Ernest Arthur "Ernie" Stimpson Jr.

QUEENSBURY

Ernest A. Stimpson Jr., 56, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born March 12, 1960 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Elizabeth (Holt) McDevitt, and the late Ernest A. Stimpson Sr.

Ernie was a gentle giant who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as going to music festivals. He was a Dead Head and was known for attending many concerts. He was a member of The Jury Motorcycle Club as well as The Norlanders. Most of all, Ernie loved sharing his love of music and life with his children and grandchildren, and was particularly proud of the United States Military and his family members who served.

In addition to his father, Ernie was predeceased by his step-father James O. McDevitt, and his former wife Deborah Amell.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elizabeth McDevitt and her significant other Maurice Combs, his children; Trevor Stimpson, Tanya Miller and her husband Dakota, and Christopher Stimpson and his significant other Liz Farrell, his grandchildren; Alyssa Morehouse, Logan Pianka, Cameron Etu, Rowan Stimpson, and Willow Stimpson, his sister Jean Hunt and her husband John, his brothers; David and Joel Stimpson, His niece Alicia Letendre and her husband Roger, his former wife Kim McDonald, as well as many close friends.

Friends may call from 4-6pm on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. A funeral service will follow calling hours at 6pm with the Rev. Flossie Bates officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
