Beverly J. Karpinski
South Glens Falls/ Cortland

Beverly Jane Stewart Karpinski, of South Glens Falls, New York, passed away peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Cortland, New York. Her entire family surrounded her with love. Beverly's beloved husband of 49 years is the late Michael E. Karpinski.

Born December 31, 1933, Beverly was the daughter of the late Clayton F. and Orletta M. Chamberlain Stewart.

Beverly graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1950 and attained her nursing degree from Union College of the State University of New York in 1953. Beverly married Michael E. Karpinski September 27th, 1953.

She was employed by Glens Falls Hospital for many years and was the Nurse Manager for the Labor and Delivery Unit. Beverly was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, serving in many capacities of church and community service including the Board of Sessions, leadership roles, and teaching. Beverly also served the community in other ways in volunteer work, delivering Meals on Wheels, and as a substitute school nurse.

Beverly Karpinski's children are a son, Michael E. Karpinski of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and two daughters, Constance Karpinski Starmer of Cortland, New York, and Susan Karpinski Pate of Dunedin, Florida. Also surviving are sons-in-law Ron Starmer and Steven Pate, and daughter-in-law Anne Karpinski.

Beverly and her late husband Mike cherished and were completely devoted to their grandchildren: Jacob Starmer, Mia Starmer Reisweber, Courtney Pate, Luka Starmer , Kevin Pate, Michael P. Karpinski , and Megan Karpinski. Their legacy continues with these grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Michael Adams of South Glens Falls, NY; Dr. John Lombardo, Dr. Diane DeFerrante and the entire staff of both Cortland Regional Medical Hospital and Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Cortland, New York for all of their care and compassion.
