Marion Rose Sheloski, 83, went to be with the love of her life, Joseph, on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

She was born on February 28, 1934 in South Glens Falls to the late Andrew and Lena (Keech) Vincent.

Marion attended South Glens Falls High School on Hudson Street until tenth grade. She left school to help support her family.

She married the love of her life, Joseph “Sonny” Sheloski, on May 9, 1954 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Hudson Falls by Rev. O’Brien. They were married 58 years until his passing on April, 17, 2012.

Marion was a long time communicant of St. Mary’s in Hudson Falls and St. Joseph’s in Fort Edward.

She worked at Kreskies as a fountain girl where she met Joe. Marion was also a stay at home mother until her six beautiful daughters were all in school. She then worked at O’Donnal’s Nursing Home in Hudson Falls for two years. Marion was employed at Steinbach’s in Queensbury, she retired after 15 years of service.

Marion loved spending time at the family camp on Hadlock Pond, as well as listening and dancing to Country Music. She enjoyed tending to her very large flower garden. In her later years she lived at The Oaks at Fort Hudson where she liked to play bingo and poker and going on the seniors bus, pot luck suppers, listening to Arthur’s music in the evening and meeting all the good people there.

In addition to her parents and her husband she is predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Sheloski Harvey; and her sisters, Ellie Mae Vincent and Peggy Estes.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Donna Rowe and her husband, Bill, of Niskayuna, Theresa Huntington and her husband, Michael, of Glens Falls, Jane Townsend and her husband, Mark, of Ballston Lake, Stella Racicot and her husband, Glenn, of Queensbury, and Ann Sheloski of Glens Falls; her brother, Jack Vincent of Glens Falls; and 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her Doctors from Hudson Headwaters Health Network, past and present, Dr. William Parker and Wendy Steinhacker, PA, Hudson Headwaters Health Network Palliative Care Program, Sharon Shannon, NP, and Alichia Early, NP. Doctors, past and present from Adirondack Cardiology Dr. David Schwenker, Dr. Peter Gray and Dr. Atilla Kayalar. Special thanks to the nursing and therapy staff of Fort Hudson Certified Home Health Agency and Palliative Care Program for their loving care and support during Marion’s final days, Ed Miller, RN, Carrie Tyler, RN, Dan Perry, PT, and Alissa Keegan, OT, and Penny Bassett, PCA.
Friends may call from 2 to 4pm on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the funeral home, with Sister Donna Irving, SSND, of Glens Falls Hospital Pastoral Care, officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
