The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Mattison can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

I am so sorry for the loss of a good man. There is nothing anyone can say to make it hurt any less. Having gone through a similar situation myself, I was able to find a small amount of comfort from knowing that the person you love no longer has to suffer. Also know that you guys were able to care for him and keep him in the comfort of his family and his home until the end. You did more for him than any doctor or facility could possibly do. Walt will be missed.
