Obituary for William Frederick "Bill" Goldsmith

Saratoga Springs

William F. Goldsmith “Bill”, 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

He was born January 13th, 1925, in New York City.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he received medical training to become a nurse.

He enjoyed fine dining, especially lobster, photography, and traveling in his younger years.

Bill was the owner of Park Studio Camera Shop on Glen Street in Glens Falls. Previous to that he worked at Glens Falls Hospital as a nurse and lab technician. He was also a deputy sheriff working security at the harness track.

He was a member of the Moreau EMS and The Shriner’s.

Bill was predeceased by his father, Arthur Levy, his mother and step father, Dorothy and Leonard Goldsmith, his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Victor Ancona, infant son Roy Glenn Goldsmith, and his second wife, Nora Corcoran Goldsmith.

He is survived by his first wife, Mary Weber.

Left to cherish his memory include his children, Bruce Goldsmith and wife Penny, Lynn Goldsmith and husband Bill Giorgianni, Roger Goldsmith and wife Tammy, Glenn Goldsmith and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kira and husband Saad (Elboury), Matthew and wife Melissa, Jessica, Jason, Christina, Alex, Lindsey; along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 12-1pm on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main St., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Memorial Service will follow the calling hours at 1pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at 3pm at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Rd.
Schuylerville, N.Y. 12871.
