Obituary for John Bradley "Jack" Wright

Hudson Falls

John “Jack” Wright, 75, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Glens Falls on April 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Bradley and Frances (Sumner) Wright.

Jack graduated from South Glens Falls High School class of 1961.

After high school graduation, John enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for four years.

On October 24, 1964, John married Margaret “Maggie” L. Jones at the Fort Edward United Methodist Church.

He was the owner / operator of Jack’s Barber shop in South Glens Falls and Glens Falls for over 30 years and loved his customers.

John enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending winters in Florida. He was a Yankees and Giants fan, an ice cream connoisseur, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Edward.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret “Maggie” Wright; children, Christopher Wright, Stephen Wright and wife Stephanie, and Jill Paquette and husband Peter; grandchildren, Alyssa, Erin and Heather Wright, Caden , Mason, and Ella Paquette; brother, Lee Wright and wife Christine, sister, Brenda Wozniak; brothers and sisters in law, Marilyn Fiore, William Jones (Charlotte), Shirley DeLorenzo, Donald Jones (Betty), Jack Jones (Deborah), Beverly Rosati (Louis), Marie Harrington (Thomas), Helen Potter (Vincent), David Jones (Marcia), and Richard Jones (Barbara), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 4p.m. to 7p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Fort Edward.

The family would like to thank all the friends, neighbors, and family that helped care for Jack over the last few months. They would especially like to thank Terry Russo and Vicki Goodspeed for their care and compassion during Jack’s illness.
