Obituary for Darcie E. Carpenter

Warrensburg

Darcie E. Carpenter, 66, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Born on April 4, 1951, in Glens Falls she was the daughter of the late, Joseph Marr and Frances (Butler) Golden.

She worked at Wilton Developmental Center as a house assistant and she was a favorite lunch lady at the Big Cross Street School in Glens Falls for many years.

Darcie loved spending time with her family, fiancé and family friends. She was loved by many people and would light up a room anywhere she went. She loved to sing and dance, watch the Yankee’s games, read, puzzle books and eating chocolate. She also enjoyed feeding the chipmunks, sunbathing and looking at the scenery with her friends on the porch at Country Side Adult Home.

In addition to her parents, Darcie was predeceased by her siblings, John Marr, Phelan Marr, Brien Marr, Noreen Cheney; and her son; Rian Danahy.

Left to cherish her memory include her fiancé, Ricky Bartlett; her daughters, Merri-Ellen Palmer (John Hack), Karla Bombard (Greg Gensch), Kara Gates(Jarod Gates); her grandchildren, Sara Palmer, Jennifer Palmer, Nathan Palmer, Samuel Easter, Celena Danahy, Ryan Danahy, Caleb Bombard, Kellen Bombard, Gavin Gensch and grandpup, Bradley; her great grandchildren, Lauren Bailey and Adriana Henry; her siblings, Rory Marr (Gloria), Sean Marr; her brother-in- law, Leland Cheney; a special bond with her nieces, Renee Berg (Greg), and Robin Flynn (Jamie), and Kathy Marr; and many more nieces and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and residents at Countryside Adult Home for making their mother feel at home and loved beyond words. They would also like to thank Heidi, case manager on 3West at Glens Falls hospital, for your amazing work assisting to get her home to enjoy her last moments with her family and friends. Also thank you to the doctors and nurses who cared for her while she was at Glens Falls Hospital.

Burial will follow services at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, So. Glens Falls.
