Obituary for Robert Edward Labshere Jr.

HUDSON FALLS —

Robert Edward Labshere Jr. went to Heaven peacefully from home in his sleep on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle.

Bob was born on January 30th, 1961, the son of Sandra and Robert Bigelow, as well as his biological father, Robert Labshere, and his wife, Cheryl.

Bob was a member of the Hudson Falls High School graduating Class of 1978. He earned a degree in welding from BOCES.

Bob worked for many years in the field of construction and also worked as a millwright. His construction work brought him as far as Japan in 1995.

He enjoyed playing baseball from Little League up until High School.

Bob certainly loved his family. He enjoyed having cookouts with HIS "People" (as he lovingly referred to all of us.)

Bob was a talented bass guitar player. He, along with his lead guitarist brother Dan who was also his lifelong best friend, formed a band who played locally in the 1980's. They, along with their bandmates even earned a great opportunity to warm up for the famous band of "Blue Oyster Cult." It was an amazing sight to see.

In recent years, they enjoyed jamming at "The Barn" along with their dear friends Phil and Karen. Bob enjoyed his daughter Sara joining them on occasion with her beautiful vocals.

Bob was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Bob's little sister, Shelly Labshere also predeceased him.

Survivors include his parents, his completely devoted love of his life for 26 years Lisa Joerg, their beautiful children, Robert Labshere III, of Hudson Falls, Sara Labshere of Glens Falls, Christopher Labshere of Hudson Falls and Alexander Labshere of Hudson Falls; his precious grandchildren, Brayden, LJ & Evan; his brothers, Dan Labshere and his wife, Bonnie, of Hudson Falls, Robert Bigelow and his wife, Patty, of Hudson Falls, Brian Bigelow and his wife, Cindy, of Queensbury, and Michael Bigelow and his wife, Terry, of Hudson Falls; his sisters, Debbie Labshere, and her boyfriend Chuck, of Moreau, Sherry Rivers, and her late husband, Harry Rivers Jr., of South Glens Falls; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
