Sandra R. (Gillis) Wilkins, 71, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Born on April 2, 1946 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Evans) Gillis.

She was a 1964 graduate of Fort Edward High School and subsequently, Sandra attended Adirondack Community College to further her insurance career.

In 1969, Sandra married William Wilkins at the Fort Edward Methodist Church. They were married for 41 years until his passing in 2011.

Sandra was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls for over 40 years. She was employed as an underwriter for 26 years at Continental Insurance. She then worked for Travelers Insurance until her retirement in 2012.

She enjoyed collecting and dealing antiques, crocheting, quilting, and cross-stitching. Sandra loved spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was predeceased by her brother, Larry Gillis and her sister-in-law, Margaret Gillis.

Survivors include her two daughters, Michelle Wilkins Bober and her husband, Jay of Basking Ridge, NJ and Melissa Wilkins of Glens Falls; her three grandchildren, Joshua, Ashleigh and Matthew Bober; her brother, Leonard Gillis and his wife, Therese of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church, Fort Edward, NY.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hudson Falls.
