Roscoe J. “Rock” Bain, 88, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Hudson Park Rehab and Nursing Home.

Born on May 12, 1929 in Argyle, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Jane (Washburn) Bain.

On August 13, 1978 Rock married Mary “Bette” McIntyre at the Argyle United Methodist Church.

Rock was a farmer for many years at Bain Acres. He also worked as a mail carrier, at Argyle EMS and as a clerk at Miller’s Auction House. He was a member of the Masons for a period of time.

Bette and Rock enjoyed going golfing, bowling and traveling together.

In addition to his parents, Rock is predeceased by his first wife, Helen (Walsh) Bain; his daughter, Roxanne Bromley; his sisters, Eileen Sherman and Doris Rogers.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years; his daughter, Marlene Reid and her husband, Steve; his son, Steve Bain and his wife, Christine; his son-in-law, Paul Bromley; his step-daughter, Tracy Lucarelli and her husband, Jay; his grandchildren, Thomas Bromley and his wife, Michele, Elizabeth (Cook) and her husband, Andy, Kyle Reid and his wife, Shanna and Jonathan Bain and his wife, Kristen; and his step-grandson, Kevin Dickinson; his great grandchildren, Landon, Caleb, Joshua, Callen, Brianne, Noah and Cyrus; his sisters, Pauline Shaw, Marion Gillis and Anna McKernon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 11:00 am to 12 noon on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Argyle Methodist Church, Sheridan Street, Argyle, NY.

Funeral Services will be conducted following the calling hour at 12 noon at the Church with the Rev. Deb Peacock, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow services at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle.
