Obituary for Christopher Jay Clark

Christopher Jay Clark, 46, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 24, 1971 in Glens Falls, the son of Karen (Dowmont) Clark of Argyle and the late Ronald Clark.

Chris attended Argyle Central School and graduated from Marana High School in Tucson, Arizona. In 1989 Chris enlisted in the US Army retiring as 1st Sergeant. While serving with the Army Chris was decorated with the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Army Commendation Medal (3rd award) Army Achievement Medal (5th Award) Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), NATO Medal, UN Medal, Air Assault Badge, Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge.
On January 14, 2011 Chris married Kari Mooney Clark in Tucson, Arizona and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his father, Chris was also predeceased by his grandparents, Austin and Kathryn Clark and Robert and Shirley Dowmont.

Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of 6 years, Kari, and his mother Karen, include his daughter, Christina Clark of Sapulpa OK, his sons, Austin Clark of Sapulpa, OK and Jayce Clark of Fort Edward, his stepson, Andrew Larcom stationed with the United States Airforce; his brother, Michael Clark of Greenwich, his sisters-in-law, Kim Broesch (Jerry) of Hayden, ID and Heather Carinalli (Kevin) of Santa Rosa, CA; his brother-in-law, Randy Canifax (Nancy) of Tacoma, WA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward.

The Rite of Committal with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward.
