Condolence: Only God knows why two people become true friends. A person is lucky to have but one or two true friends in their lifetime.
Further, only God, and we, know the pain of separation when true friends part. This is the nature of the gift of true friendship.
I am grateful for the gift of Mike's friendship for 55 years. My conscience will not allow me to feel cheated for the days we spent apart in the past, or for the days ahead we'll be apart. No, the special happiness Michael brought into my life clearly outweighs the pain of separation.
My prayers are offered for Maureen and Mike's family. May you all re-run the happy memories in your hearts and minds and forget the unhappy times.
