Mary A. Smith, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Slate Valley Center in Granville.

Born in Glens Falls on October 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Margaret (Moore) McNeil.

Mary was a graduate of Argyle Central School. She received her Registered Nurse degree through Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

She worked for Glens Falls Hospital for 25 years and then went to work for Kmart where she retired from after 15 years.

Mary enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling by car, and enjoyed looking at all the Christmas lights during the holiday season.

Along with her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband George Smith, two sisters, Betty Smith and Charlotte House, and Mary’s significant other, Clayton Ballard.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, George Smith (Mary) of Hudson Falls, Scott Smith (Debra) of Glens Falls, grandchildren, Riley Smith, step grandchildren, Terissa Keech and Paula Moss, great grandson, Zachary Keech, step-daughter, Cressa Campbell, siblings, Charles McNeil (Alice), and Irene Rupp (Henry), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside Services will be conducted in the spring in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle.
