Jean E. Cowden, 90, passed away Jan. 14, 2018 at Saratoga Care Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Ballston Spa.

She was born in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late William & Frances Evans.

She worked as a switchboard operator first at Skidmore College and later at Saratoga County from which she retired.

She was an active Girl Scout leader for many years. She was active in the United Methodist Church, often helping with dinners and breakfasts put on by the church. She was active in the Saratoga Hospital Guild. She was on a bowling league and enjoyed crafts of all kinds. In later years, she and her husband Quie became full time campers and traveled the United States seeing all state capitals & traveled through Canada and Mexico. As they traveled, Jean & Quie would often volunteer at churches and campgrounds along their way.

Jean is predeceased by her parents, William & Frances Evans and a daughter Barbara Muse-Lake.

She is survived by her husband Clarence “Quie”, daughters, Bonny (Robert) Coad of Oswego & Brenda (James) Holm of Salem, OR; her son, Brian of Syracuse; her sisters, Elinor Miller of Rock City Falls and Carolyn (John) Greenough of Palm Bay, FL; her grandchildren, Sarah (John Kryzkowski of Fulton, Michael (Jessie) Rojcewicz of Lk Wales, Fl, Bradley Quackenbush of Keiser, OR and Alex (Gina) Muse of Lakeville, MA as well as great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There ae no public calling hours and will have a small private graveside service at the Gerald B. H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery in Stillwater, NY in the spring.
