Obituary for Jeanne DiFiore (Thinnes)

Jeanne DiFiore, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 27, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Michael and Agnes Catherine (McNulty) Thinnes.

Jeanne graduated from St. Xavier Commercial High School and then went on to attend University of Cincinnati. For many years Jeanne worked for Warren-Hamilton County Head Start in Queensbury as a Director. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

She enjoyed knitting, baking, music and playing cards with her family. Jeanne was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the New York Mets and University of Notre Dame. Jeanne loved to travel both nationally and internationally with her husband Louis. In later years they wintered in Florida. Throughout their travels they made many friends.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne is predeceased by her brothers, Jack Thinnes (Babe) and Jim Thinnes; her first husband, Eugene Magee; her husband and love of her life, Louis DiFiore and his son, Matthew DiFiore.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Michael Magee (Irene) of Cambridge, Patricia Tamaki (Dwight) of Medford, NJ, and Kerry Magee of Medford, NJ; her grandchildren, Erin McCarty (Nicholas) of Glens Falls, Connor Tamaki of Medford, NJ, Joanne Bollinger (Rick) of Ballston Spa, Chris DiFiore (Kathy) of Albany and Michael DiFiore (Ashley) of Glens Falls; her sister-in-law, Jean Thinnes of Cincinnati, OH; her daughter-in-law, Geny DiFiore of Mechanicville; and many great-grandchildren and extended family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls.

Rite of committal will be conducted at 9am on April 23, 2018 at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

The family wishes to thank Jeanne’s caregivers and supportive staff at Fort Hudson.
