Joyce was a great supporter of the musical arts and everything her children and grandchildren were involved in. John & Joyce also spent many years volunteering for several local organizations including R.S.V.P. and Meals on Wheels. She loved the beach, spending time with her family, traveling around the country attending rallies in their RV, wintering in Florida and Disney World.

Besides her parents, Joyce is predeceased by her loving husband and her foster daughter Sherry (Ted) Dufford Matteson of Monroe, NC.

Left to cherish her memory includes her children, Thomas (Patty) Washburn of Fort Ann, Eileen (Brud) Hannay of Hudson Falls, Kathleen (R. Paul) McCarty of Fort Edward, Charleen (Patrick) Towers of South Glens Falls. She is also survived by her grandchildren who lovingly called her Jerce, Erica Washburn & her husband Richard Gilcoine of Halifax, MA, Elizabeth (James) Washburn Hyatt of Queensbury, Scott Hannay of Plattsburgh, Lyle Washburn and Caroline Vogel of Fort Ann, Robert McCarty, Esq. and his fiancée Hayley Carroll of Glens Falls, Chelsea Towers & Marissa Towers of South Glens Falls, Dawn (Steven) Meyer of Chatham, Linda (Matthew) Borton of Ghent and her foster granddaughters Casey McCracken & Crystal Leopold of North Carolina; Great-grandchildren, Gage Hyatt, Piper Hyatt, Carter Washburn and several cousins, nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Tower 2 staff in the Oncology Unit at Glens Falls Hospital for their compassionate care during her stay.
