Obituary for Cindy Lee Wilson

Cindy Lee  Wilson
JORDANVILLE-Cindy Lee Wilson, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening March 17, 2018 in her home. Daughter of Nevin and Kathleen Fowler Gillmor, she was born on April 7, 1948 in Glens Falls. Cindy was raised in South Glens Falls and was a graduate of South Glens Falls High School. On May 15, 1968, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Wilson in South Glens Falls. They moved from Fort Edward in 1985 and have been residents of Jordanville since 1992.

She worked for many years with her husband Rob operating dairy farms, later once the children were raised Cindy started her own very poplar business designing & creating wedding cakes, “Keep Your Fork Cakes,” which she ran for many years with great pride. She loved helping make a lasting memory for the couples that she worked with over the years. Cindy was a member of the Jordanville Federated Church. At one time she was involved with the 4 H programs and more recently had volunteered her time at the Cancer Center within Bassett Healthcare. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and quilting. To all who knew Cindy they will never forget what a caring, loving and helpful friend and the cornerstone of her extended family, with an unforgettable smile She had a way of lighting up the room and putting people at ease. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Surviving besides her devoted husband of forty-nine years Robert, one son, Andrew Wilson and his fiance’ Christina Lewis of Jordanville, and granddaughter Regan Lewis; a daughter, Susanne Wilson of Rome, and granddaughters Jessica Wilson and Kathleen Madison and great granddaughter, Emma Eva Madison, her parents, Nevin and Kathleen Gillmor of Utica, a sister, Judith Abbott of Acworth, GA, several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs with a prayer service immediately following at 7:00 pm with Reverend Scott Hocking, pastor of the Jordanville Federated Church officiating. The family will then receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street; South Glens Falls. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm with the Protodeacon Peter Jacob Ignatius officiating. Interment will be in South Side Cemetery at 12pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Home Care Dialysis Unit c/o Bassett Medical Center, 1 Atwell Road; Cooperstown, NY 13326. Envelopes will be available at the funeral homes.
