Elizabeth “Betty” (Green) Craw, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 3, 1926 in Tully, NY she was the daughter of the late Leicester and A. Hazel (Evans) Green.

Betty graduated from Tully Central School in 1943 and went on to graduate from Syracuse University School of Nursing in 1946. Years later she graduated from SUNY Cortland with her bachelors in Nursing. She retired as the School Nurse at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland in 1986. She was a member of the South Glens Falls United Methodist church for many years.

On November 27, 1946, Betty married Alan D. Craw at Tully Methodist Church. They spent 69 years together until his passing in April of 2016.

Betty was fortunate enough to travel and enjoy many parts of this country as well as visiting other countries and cultures.

Family and friends were the core of her life. She always enjoyed socializing at the neighborhood gatherings on Hawthorn Drive where she and Alan were the “fun” old couple. After Alan’s passing she relocated to the Glen at Highland Meadows and found additional friends and fun to fill her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brother, John Green.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Philip Craw of Frederick Md., Christine Shaner (Peter) of Queensbury and Douglas Craw (Vicki Frank) of Dunlap, IL; her grandchildren, Brian Shaner (Jennifer) of Queensbury and Rebecca Holmes (Randolph) of Salem; her great-grandchildren, Ava Holmes, Jack Shaner, Emily Shaner and Oliver Holmes; her brother, Richard Green (Judy); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her lasting gift to her family will be the memory of her quiet presence offering a steadfast and unconditional love. She will be missed!
