June C. (Chaffee) Howlett, 89, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward.

Born March 29, 1929 in Ithaca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and E. Elizabeth (Dassance) Chaffee.

June married Lyndon J. Howlett Jr. on June 13, 1948 in the Dewitt Baptist Church in Ithaca, NY, and together they raised their family until his passing in 1997.

June was a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved music of all kinds and played the steel guitar, piano and organ. She had a very quick wit. June loved sewing and knitting and was “everyone’s Granny”. She loved her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was also predeceased by her brother and sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Lyndon Howlett III, Jay Howlett (Jennifer), Lila Howlett (Gino Ruggi), Ellyn Pettit (David), her grandchildren; Mathew Pettit, Andrew Pettit (Katherine), Lyndon Howlett, Kathryn Howlett, Jayne Howlett, Pere Howlett, and Molly Carr, her great-grandchildren; Spencer Pettit and Finnegan Pettit, her cousins; Stevie Harper and Joan Dassance, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 2-4pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 4pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at 2:30pm on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.

June wanted to remind everyone that she loved flowers and that they will be gratefully accepted for the service.
