Obituary for Stanley L. Flewelling Sr.

Stanley L. Flewelling Sr., 77, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Washington Center Nursing Home.

Born on June 2, 1940, in Argyle, he was the son of the late Joseph Flewelling Sr. and Ruth (Tooker) Flewelling.

On February 18, 1959, Stanley enlisted into the United Sates Air Force in Albany and was honorable discharged on February 17, 1965. Shortly after enlisting into the United States Air Force he married, Thelma VanNular on October 8, 1960, in Norwalk, OH.

Stanley enjoyed going fishing, barbecuing, watching WWF Wrestling, but he especially loved spending time with his family. He loved having pets and he always had a dog.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his infant daughter, Lisa Flewelling; his brothers, Joseph Flewelling Jr. and Ralph Flewelling Sr.; his step-sons, Robert Ogburn and David Ogburn; step-granddaughter, Annie Ogburn and Jennifer Ogburn; his brothers-in-law, Bernard Langworthy, Karl Monroe and Lester Jenkins.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Thelma; his four sons, Stanley (Tammy) Flewelling Jr., Steven Flewelling and his companion, Carol, Joe Flewelling and his companion, Michelle and Doug Flewelling and his companion, Tammy; his step-son, Ron Ogburn; his step-daughters, Kathy (Paul) Flanders and Sandra (Kevin) Ogburn; his sisters, Frances (Guy) Harrington, Barbara Jenkins, Belva Langworthy, Norma Monroe, Gail Flewelling, Ruthie (Don) Crosse, Jean (Porky) Sumner; his sisters-in-law, Darlene Flewelling, Linda Flewelling and Becky Ogburn; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will follow the calling hours with Military Honors at 2pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
